Blog Updates

I’m working on a new design. Maybe you already saw part of it. I’m too lazy to think about how to be able to work on a new design with a test database, so I just switch designs when I’m busy with all the PHP and CSS and switch it back to the old one once I’m done.

As I said, it’s going to be pink. And it has flowers. So don’t be afraid if you get crushed by flowery pinkness here. It’s all right. It’s just not ready yet.

The problem – as always – is that these days are still only 24 hours long. I could need about two hours more each day and then I might be able to do about half the things I want to do.

But they don’t and so I’m not.

At least yesterday I got out my clarinet and found out that I still now the basics of how to play it. I need to look up a lot, but I can play scales and still know how to play most of the notes without thinking about it too much. Of course I was exhausted after only a short time. You just need a lot of breath and after all this time I’m not used to it.

I also have all these ideas in my head, but I can’t seem to find the time to sit down and really think them out or actually put something into action.

But it’s okay. I get to read a lot on the train and work is fun, so I’m not complaining. I just wish the days were longer than they are.

Friday Morning Baking

Today I finally put into action what will from now on be known as one of my best ideas ever. Muffin pralines. Now seriously, why did it take me so long to think of this? It’s awesome. Especially since instead of having to choose just one muffin, you can eat each of one flavour and probably still have room for more.

This morning I whipped up some basic muffin dough, which would have made about 18 normal sized muffins. I divided the dough in three parts, added matcha green tea powder to one part, lemon zest to the second and melted chocolate and coconut flakes to the third one and the filled little tiny praline cups with the dough, put it in the oven and let it bake for about 15 minuted. Out came tiny little yummy mini muffins, which are just as tasty as the big ones, but much cuter and therefore even harder too resist.

Maybe… Maybe Not

I’m playing around with new layout ideas for this blog. I fear it’s going to be pink.

Reading Stacks

Some of these pictures kinda put things in perspective. I usually have a reading stack, but that’s like five or six books at the most.

Random TV Thoughts

I want a Blake/Melinda finale. If that’s not happening something is seriously wrong with this world. I also think that Melinda should have won like… five years ago. But still, if she’s not the one winning, I need Blake to win.

I think I really like Izzie. I mean, she cooks when she’s stressed or nervous or whatever. What’s not to like there?

Still, I don’t get the credits of Grey’s Anatomy. I mean they show cocktails and smart little black dresses there. Has anybody in this show ever had a cocktail or worn a little black dress? I’m nearly through with the first season and there has only been drinking of whole bottles of Tequila so far.

Tastes Change

I think my mother kind of remembers very fondly the days when neither me nor my father liked asparagus. There were those days when we didn’t and my mother could have all the asparagus for herself. Then that changed and now even I might feel a little yearning for asparagus.

I also think that she might be afraid of the day when my father and I decide we actually might like mussles. But that day hasn’t come yet. So far she only has to share them with my husband, who – as you might or might not no – will eat just about everything1.

1Though his culinary fault is that he somehow mistakes the „Best before“ date with a „Will immediately go bad one minute after midnight on this day“ date. He also seems to think that I have a sixth sense when it comes to determine if something has gone bad. Geez, I only check for mould and strange smells like everybody else. Plus, if you’re not sure and it costs unter two Euro, just throw it away. Nobody cares. Really.

I got myself a sunburn. In April. Well, May, actually, but still. And just from sitting on the balcony pretty much all day yesterday.

I feel that I shouldn’t be so damn happy about the fact that my left arm is partly red, but I am.

I also would like to say that Grey’s Anatomy might be the show with the best soundtrack ever. iTunes is going to make a hell of a lot of money from me for the weeks days to come.

CSS Rulez!

I’m not sure if the changes I made to the blog’s layout yesterday and today are that obvious, but I’m really happy so far.

I’m not sure if I understand everything I’m doing, but thanks to these great books I’ve been reading about HTML and CSS lately I feel I have a pretty good idea about what’s happening. At last!

Mmmmm…. Yummy.

Hey there, you people somewhere in one of those backyards! I can’t see you, but I want to tell you this: Stop barbequeing. It smells too good and I might start to drool right about… NOW! Stop! Gaaaaa!
