Just Add A Little Bit Of White Here, Won’t You?

About 96% of Northrhine Westphalia is snowed in to the point of having no electricty and what do we get? A couple of pathetic little snowflakes that melt when you only look at them. Grrrr. I hate that it never snows here. Of course I’m happy that we still have electricity and heating and no tree has fallen on our house, but would it hurt whoever-is-responsible to let it snow a little here, too?

When Andreas and I walked to the train station last night we were marching through storming snowflakes, with snow crunching beneath our feet and more than once saw a streetlight flicker off and on again. The minute we got to the station we got to see all the lights in there go off too and we practically had to guide me through to my platform because it was pitch black. Plus I couldn’t get a ticket.
Luckily my train came and didn’t stop and turn back on the way to Cologne, so I got home alright. But you can bet I was disappointed when I got out here and no snow at all. I lead a snow-deprived life. It’s sad.
