So, yes. We finally got that new TV we’ve been thinking about for some time. We didn’t have anything specific in mind, we just knew we wanted a new flatscreen TV with 16:9 widescreen and that was basically all we knew.

Now one of Germany’s big media and electronic chains had this special offer where you get 10 Euro back for every goal the German team scores at the FiFa Soccer World Cup or whatever it is called.

That was just what we needed to finally decide to stop thinking about and really getting a new TV. We originally thought about something in the 700 or 800 Euro price category, but of course we ended up staring at those nifty bigger ones and eventually couldn’t resist getting a nice Siemens flatscreen for 1050 Euro. A lot of money, yeah, but from what I can tell from the short time we’ve had it… totally worth it. Now finally I think I can get in movie mood again. It sure makes a difference compared to our old TV (which, I admit, wasn’t that bad).

I also already got all the DVDs from the bedroom. Watching Battlestar Galactica on my computer was a nice idea when it actually looked better there than on our TV. But now I think I want to see it on the big screen.

Let’s all hope Germany scores a hell of a lot of goals. They don’t even need to win. Just shoot, guys.
