Hell, Yes!
I wanted Kevin on the show. So sue me. I love him. I know his voice isn’t really great, but he’s so damn cool. Also, he reminds me a lot of my cousin, so I would have hated to see him go. I bet he’ll be one of the first to go, but he’s so adorable. Sigh.
I also wanted Melissa on the show. Here I even would say that she has a really good voice. I didn’t like her song choice this week and I absolutely hated to see Ayla go, but if it keeps Melissa on the show, I’m fine with it. Actually I could do without Mandisa. Don’t get me wrong, she’s got an amazing voice and she seems like a really nice and fun person, but I don’t like her as much as I like most of the other contestants. Besides, what does she want on this show, anyway? She’s so much better than that, what the hell is she doing on American Idol???
I want to hate Kelly (Kellie?) Pickler, but I can’t. I just… I can’t. She is so close to being the prototype of the sweet, innocent girl with the tragic home story and it’s just so sad and she’s just so sweet and you just hate her, but it doesn’t work with Kellie (Kelly?). I actually like her a lot. How did that happen?
And I’m glad that Gedeon’s gone. Which I feel somewhat ashamed for, because I realize this is a singing competition and boy, could this guy sing, but he got on my nerves so much, I was happy when he was voted off today. I also feel relieved a bit, because I guess that a lot of people share my views of Gedeon. He wasn’t voted off because he couldn’t sing, he was voted off, because his smile was scary and his over-pronounciating was very close to bodily injury. Also, his painting? Did anybody get what he actually wanted to say?
