Bye Bye Beauties, Bye Bye Geeks
Oh, damnit.
I wanted Brittany and Josh to win. I know that wasn’t possible, but I so wanted it. Although Josh certainly deserved it more, Brittany was just too sweet. Damn.
Of course, the one question for Cher was a freebie. „Wes“ was an answer so obvious, it was ridiculous and unfair. Who made these questions anyway. The randomness aside, some questions were a lot harder than others, so it was kind of a miracle they had to go through two tie-breaker rounds.
I also read that a lot of viewers (at least those who post on Television Without Pity) had problems with Joe saying he would want to change Brittany’s „Innocence“. While I agree that this answer sounds weird, I think – and someone on the TWoP boards came up with the same suggestion – that he was talking about innocence more in the way of naivete. She sometimes seems too sweet for her own good. Actually she was mentioning something of that kind when thinking of answer, something about her and relationships, so the answer didn’t seem too far off for me.
That said, I almost tore up several times during this last episode. I still have some issues about the casting, mainly because Wes was as far from a geek as Cher was from a know-nothing beauty, and I still think the elimination room scenes are either boring or stupid, but I enjoyed those eight episodes a lot. I’ll definitely be there when the third season starts.
